Directions to Southern Village

From I-40 (from Raleigh—about 7 miles or 10 minutes from exit)

• Exit at Chapel Hill exit #273A toward Chapel Hill
• Drive west on State Hwy 54 for about 2.9 miles
• Exit right for 15-501 South
• Drive about 1.9 miles on 15-501 South, take exit on right for Pittsboro 15-501 South
• Make a left at top of exit ramp.
• Go approximately 1.2 miles, then make a right at the light at Market Street (4th Light), which leads into “downtown” Southern Village.

From I-40 (from Greensboro—about 7 miles or 13 minutes from exit)

• Exit #270 toward Chapel Hill/Durham
• Turn right at end of exit ramp onto 15-501 South
• Continue on 15-501 for about 5.3 miles
• Exit on right for Pittsboro 15-501 South
• Make a left at top of exit ramp.
• Go approximately 1.2 miles, then make a right at the light at Market Street (4th Light), which leads into “downtown” Southern Village.

From Downtown Chapel Hill (Intersection of Franklin St. & Columbia St.—about 2.6 miles or 4 minutes)

• Take S. Columbia St. toward Fraternity Ct.
• Turn right at W. Cameron Ave.
• Turn left at S. Columbia St/Pittsboro St., staying on this road as it crosses over the highway and becomes NC-86/US 15-501 South
• Go for about 1.1 miles, turning right at the second light which is Market Street, which leads into “downtown” Southern Village.

From Pittsboro/Chatham County (about 3 miles or 5 minutes from Cole Park Plaza)

From the CVS Pharmacy at Cole Park Plaza (at the intersection of 15-501N and Manns Chapel Road), Southern Village is about 2.8 miles to the north. Drive on 15-501 North until the light at Market Street Southern Village. Turn left and follow the road as it leads into “downtown” Southern Village.

Public Transportation

Chapel Hill Transit buses are free! Bus routes “NS” and “V” run frequently and stop at the Southern Village Park-and-Ride, which is just a few steps away from Market Street, our retail, dining & entertainment center. Route V travels between Southern Village and Meadowmont, while NS travels from north on MLK Blvd. Both routes stop on or near the UNC campus, which is less than 15 minutes away from Southern Village by bus.
